Nursing Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
An annual $1,000 scholarship for four years for a total of $4000 given to a deserving graduating Senior girl or boy attending, and graduating from a high school in Genesee County, whose intention is to pursue a degree in the field of Nursing. Recipient needs to maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to receive the $1000 scholarship each year.
PURPOSE
In memory of the late Martha M. Spinnegan, Director of the Richmond Memorial Library for 34 years who contributed greatly to the quality of life in Genesee County and was an active member in many community organizations including Rotary Club of Batavia, The Jerome Foundation, Go Art, and Children’s Home Board. She earned several accolades such as the Zonta Woman of the Year, YWCA Fabulous Female, and Paul Harris Fellow. Martha served as Director of The Jerome Foundation for 13 years and the Board of Trustee established this Nursing scholarship in her memory. It is her smile, laugh and warmth that she will be remembered for most.

Journalism Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
An annual $1,000 scholarship for four years for a total of $4000 given to a deserving graduating Senior girl or boy attending, and graduating from a high school in Genesee County, whose intention is to pursue a degree in the field of Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations (in print, radio, television or digital media). Recipient needs to maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to receive the $1000 scholarship each year.
PURPOSE
In memory of the late Batavian William F. Brown Jr., noted author, broadcaster, and journalist who contributed greatly to the quality of life in Genesee County through his writing, and as a member of numerous community and civic organizations. Mr. Brown was former owner and president of WBTA Radio and was also a longtime correspondent for The Buffalo News. He wrote a regular Insights column for The Daily News for many years. He also was a former president of Batavia Rotary Club and one of the charter members, and past President, of The Jerome Foundation.
